Joel And Ellie's "Didn't Have A Compelling Relationship". Even the most ardent critics of The Last of Us will agree that its strengths lie in its story. At the core of the plot lies Joel and Ellie's budding father-daughter relationship and the slow degradation of Joel's cold and heartless shell. He learns to love again, and he takes in Ellie as

The Last of US (show) is mediocre. I think that many people have become lost in the sauce with this show. I personally did not like it and I will admit it is not terrible. It is well produced and well acted, a bunch of talent and hard work has gone into the making of this series and I think that it shows in many aspects.

Gamers are used to stories where the protagonist is a bit of a power trip and ultimately unstoppable (even if there are some moments where it's challenged, they obviously can't last). In movies/TV it's easier to see characters as mortal, because we're not in direct control of one of them. 538. ImmaDoMahThing.

The Last of Us has already broken an impressive Rotten Tomatoes record HBO’s live-action seriesThe Last of Us has set a new record with its Rotten Tomatoes score. The show, which premieres in the US on Sunday 15 January and on Monday 16 January on Sky Atlantic in the UK, is adapted from the acclaimed 2013 video game of the same name.
GoT is by a wide margin the best show ever created. It's weird to pretend praise and high ratings would be an indication for not being a trustable source. I might've mistaken your point though and you might have meant that 8.5 is a silly rating for a show that is a clear 10 for most episodes.
Okay I can’t be the only one who thinks the casting for The Last Of Us show was not so great, right? HBO Show I mean the Casting of Joel was awesome, and Tommy’s wasn’t terrible either, but Ellies casting is just terrible, she doesn’t even look like Ellie, and Sarah doesn’t even look like Sarah either, it just seems low budget, maybe
Brother it's not just about the pointless 180 ending it's about everything and the direction the game went. Not only the stupid way the main characters death was written, but the poor way it was executed and Abby was introduced. As I said it's not one or two things I'm a die hard fan of last of us. I wouldn't hate the second story just to hate it.
Ellie is still a kid in the 1st game and we watch her childhood quickly get robbed from her as the storyline progresses which all comes to fruition during the Lakeside Resort chapter. A piece of her died in that fight. Plus having to save Joel's life, Ellie had to grow up too quick.
Armond from the White Lotus and Ron Swanson are unlikely lovers in an HBO adaptation of The Last of Us and enact an extended Up-style zombie apocalypse romance during which they have a meet-cute in a pit, make love in a strawberry garden, and double date with Olivia Dunham and the Mandalorian/Oberyn Martell.
Video games and TV are totally different mediums. What works in one doesn’t necessarily work in the other, and that’s ok. The show is not a 1:1 shot for shot live action reshoot of the game, it’s adapting that story to a new medium. Some stuff will be the same and some will be different.
